What the Boston Skyline Will Look Like After Current Construction is Complete

Boston kept evolving in 2012, with new construction?green-lighted and new ground broke. According to the Mayor?s office, 22 projects broke ground this year, with total investment totaling $1.6 billion. Thirty-seven additional projects were approved, representing an additional $3.4 billion in investment.

?Cranes crowd the city skyline because investors are bullish on Boston,? Mayor Menino said in a release. ?Thanks to a growing innovation economy, a young and energized population, and an educated workforce?Boston is booming.?

But what will the skyline look like when all is said and done? Thanks to architects? renderings, we can get a peek. Here are seven of the biggest projects underway or approved in Boston:
